Lauren is a PhD student in the Department of History specializing in Medieval Europe.  She studies the interaction between Jewish and Christian communities in Western Europe between the First Crusade and the Black Death, 1000-1350. Her research is devoted to the cultures of death, burial, and commemoration that emerged in these communities.
