Audrey Martel-Dion

Audrey is a History Ph.D. student in the Early Modern Europe field. Her research interests focus on gender and sexuality, social and cultural history of science, as well as queer and trans history. Currently, she is investigating the intersections of medicine and anatomical knowledge with sex and sexuality in sixteenth- to eighteenth-century Italy. Before joining Stanford, she completed an M.A. at the Université de Montréal with a thesis examining eighteenth-century discourses on female homoeroticism and transmaculinity in Italy.
