Anna Galietti

Anna (pronouns: she/her) received her B.A. in French literature and Arabic language and literature from Dartmouth College in 2011. She was a Center for Arabic Study Abroad (CASA) fellow in Cairo, Egypt from 2011-2012. She completed her M.A. in Near Eastern Studies at Princeton University in 2020, and is now a doctoral candidate in Comparative Literature at Stanford. She also works as a freelance translator; her first book translation, Between Memory and Power: the Syrian space under the late Umayyads and the early Abbasids, was published by Brill in 2023. Her current translation project, a volume on Ibn Khaldūn's political theory, is forthcoming with Cambridge University Press. Her dissertation research examines questions of literary canon formation through the lens of Umayyad-era Arabic invective poetry.
