Ana C. Núñez studies the history of Europe and the Mediterranean in the High Middle Ages (1000-1250 CE). She is particularly interested in pilgrimage, crusading, and material culture. Her dissertation focuses on the twelfth-century crusades and the Latin Kingdom of Jerusalem from the perspective of material evidence and a material methodology, asking questions about European-Levantine exchange, memory, women, and holy matter. She is a Diversifying Academia, Recruiting Excellence (DARE) Fellow (2022-2024), and was previously an Enhancing Diversity in Graduate Education (EDGE) Fellow (2018-2020).
